Slowly through ‘A Storm At Sea,’ ‘The Landing of the Pilgrims,’ ‘Dance of the Pequot Indians,’ ‘The Minuet,’ and ‘On the Levee’ the melody is developed until there emerges the ‘Waltz Period.’ This followed by ‘The Syncopated Period’ and ‘Grand Opera’ finally becomes ‘The Spirit of 1917’.”
