Best Wishes
Veteran composer Paul Clark’s “Best Wishes” is an absolutely beautiful ballad for very young jazz ensembles! The melody in the alto sax can be played as a solo, or it can be doubled with other altos as a section feature if desired. There are no range or rhythm problems for either band or soloist; just a pretty melody over lush chords and counter-lines. A lovely piece playable with limited instrumentation, this is tremendous music for the youngest of jazz musicians. Simple can be a good thing – and this ballad is simply great! Beautiful!
